Buyer Critiques
This item is exactly what it claims to be - a colorful, largely high excellent blu ray of a couple of aquariums. Of course it is no substitute for the true factor, but I have my 52" LCD built into a cabinet and it most certainly gives the ambiance of having a built-in aquarium. It injects a sense of calm into the space while we're sitting around talking or reading.
The shots are all fixed - no panning, no zooming. Every single shot is a portion of an aquarium that stays fixed for a couple of minutes, then it cuts to yet another portion of the similar aquarium.
It is 1080p so it fills your 16x9 screen with no bars at the best or side.
There are 3 scenes to decide on from:
Tank 1 - a colorful tank with different types of coral and a dozen or so tropical fish that make appearances at several instances.
Tank 2 - a much more natural setting with even more muted colors. There are some flourishes of fish, but mainly the fish population is fairly sparse all through most of this 1. The camera cuts to a slightly several view after a couple of minutes showing more of a close up of the huge sea anemone but putting the coral in the background quite out of focus. It's in all probability intentional, but a small distracting if you are staring at it - definitely not a scene to use to show off your HDTV. Like the other people, just after a few extra minutes it cuts to one other view of the tank with really a few colorful fish in this a single.
Bonus Tank - a closeup on a conch shell in what seems to be Tank 1, with a few Nemo fish hanging out. It's ok, but I don't see myself using this a lot, if at all.
I obtain Tank 1 to be the finest - extremely relaxing with lots of color, and fish on the screen at all occasions.
It automatically switches from tank 1 to tank 2 with about five seconds of black screen among the two, so if you want just 1 tank, you will require to set your player to repeat the chapter you want.
As far as audio goes, there are 3 soundtracks offered in either 5.1 surround or two channel stereo:
Natural - aquarium bubble sounds. This is for ambience so the sound is mixed way in the background.
Calm - relaxing spa kind electronic music. Ok, except for the drone that enters and exits when a minute or so that sounds like an airplane flying by way of your media space - strange.
Slow - even more spa kind new agey music with a synthesizer loosely mimicking air bubbles.
The music is ok, but not my taste. Fortunately you can set it to all-natural and just listen to the bubbles or set your receiver or Tv to play a different music source.
All in all, specifically thinking of the low price tag, I am pleased with this a single.
I identified no issues with the video good quality of this disk. It is filmed extremely properly, especially high quality, looks terrific using my blu-ray player and 1080p Television - which I believe also has upscaling.
I found all three of the "tanks" to be entertaining and exquisite, the music is relaxing and fascinating. The tropical tank is almost certainly the finest, but they are all superior - the extra natural tank is surely not boring, and the final bonus tank is alot more of a closeup so you see the fish extra clearly.
This seriously will look like a genuine fish tank if you have a wall Tv.
